Dr Pablo Cubillas
Post-Doctoral Fellow



Pablo is working on a Leverhulme Fellowship looking at the crystal growth of metal-organic framework materials. Prior to that he was working as a post-doctoral fellow on an EPSRC funded project on "Crystal Growth of Nanoporous Materials" also within the CNM.

He received his BSc in Geology and PhD in Geochemistry (2005) at the University of Oviedo (Spain). As part of his PhD formation he spent six months at LMTG lab in Toulouse working under the supervision of Dr. Eric H. Oelkers on carbonate dissolution and precipitation kinetics. He also spent two months working at the Institute for Mineralogy at the University of Meunster with Dr. Andrew Putnis where he performed AFM studies on metal-carbonate growth.

After finishing his PhD he spent one year as a Postdoc at Wright State University, Dayton, (Ohio) working with Dr. Steve Higgins in Friction Force Microscopy studies on carbonates and AFM development.
