PhD Student

Rachel is from Devon and graduated from the University of Manchester with an MChem in 2018. This involved a third year project spent studying molecular crystal growth here at the CNM, and a master's project with Prof. Paul O'Brien. Rachel's PhD is part of the A*STAR programme, based in both Manchester and Singapore and jointly supervised by Dr. Martin Attfield, Prof. Mike Anderson and Dr Sean O'Shea, of the IMRE in Singapore. She will be using Atomic Force Microscopy to study the crystal growth of nanoporous materials. Rachel is a Director and Founding Member of the spinout CrystalGrower. Outside of the lab Rachel enjoys hiking, running and salsa.
